The GLAXOR 2-Way 90° Spider Fitting with Fin Support serves as a critical structural joint for architectural glass corners. It connects the exterior facade glass to the building’s internal framework using a “glass fin” (a thick, vertical structural glass beam).

Installation begins by sliding the central clamping channel of the spider fitting over the structural glass fin. High-tensile bolts pass through pre-drilled holes in the fin and through the fitting’s integrated protective nylon spacers. When the heavy-duty nuts are tightened down, the two inner plates compress securely against the fin. Crucially, the protective spacers ensure the rigid stainless steel never makes direct contact with the glass, preventing point-stress and cracking.

Once the base is securely clamped to the fin, the two extending arms, positioned at a strict 90-degree angle, provide robust anchor points for the exterior corner glass panels. Point-fixing routels (sold separately) are installed through the eyelets of these arms to grip the exterior glass. This mechanical assembly effectively gathers the dead weight and dynamic wind loads from the exterior panels and safely transfers them directly into the supporting glass fin, creating a highly stable, frameless architectural corner.
