The GLAXOR 3-Way Spider Fitting (Y-Type) acts as a critical load-transfer hub for architectural glass systems, specifically utilized in areas where three distinct glass panels meet.
Installation begins by securely fastening the center of the Y-bracket directly to a primary structural element such as an internal steel column, structural post, or custom mounting node using a heavy-duty central hex bolt.
Once the spider fitting is rigidly anchored to the building’s skeleton, its three arms radiate outward toward the corners of the intersecting glass panels. Point-fixing routels (sold separately) are passed through the eyelets at the end of each arm to mechanically grip the pre-drilled holes in the glass. This mechanical assembly allows the heavy glass panels to safely “float” in place. The spider fitting efficiently gathers the dead weight of the glass and the dynamic kinetic energy of wind loads, funneling that stress safely away from the fragile glass edges and directly into the sturdy internal framework of the building.
