The GLAXOR Standard 4-Way Spider Fitting (X-Type) acts as the critical load-transfer node between an exterior glass facade and a building’s internal support structure.

Installation involves securing the center of the X-bracket directly to a primary structural element—such as a vertical steel I-beam, a circular support post, or a custom mounting plate—using a heavy-duty central hex bolt.

Once the spider fitting is rigidly anchored to the building’s skeleton, its four arms extend outward toward the corners of four intersecting glass panels. Point-fixing routels (sold separately) are passed through the eyelets at the end of each arm to mechanically grip the pre-drilled holes in the glass. This system allows the heavy glass panels to “float” seamlessly. The spider fitting gathers the immense dead weight of the glass and the dynamic kinetic energy of wind loads, funneling that stress safely away from the fragile glass and directly into the sturdy steel framework of the building.
