The GLAXOR 1-Way Spider Fitting (Fin Mount) acts as a critical terminating anchor, connecting exterior facade glass to the building’s internal framework using a “glass fin” (a thick, vertical structural glass beam).

Installation begins by sliding the central parallel clamping plates of the spider fitting over the edge of the structural glass fin. High-tensile bolts pass through the fin (via precision pre-drilled holes) and through the fitting’s integrated thick protective isolation spacers. When the heavy-duty cap nuts are tightened down, the two inner plates compress securely against the fin. Crucially, the protective sleeves ensure the rigid stainless steel never makes direct contact with the glass, preventing point-stress and cracking.

Once the base is securely clamped to the fin, the single extending arm provides a robust anchor point for the exterior edge glass panel. A point-fixing routel is installed through the eyelet of this arm to securely grip the exterior glass. This mechanical assembly effectively gathers the dead weight and dynamic wind loads from the terminating exterior panel and safely transfers them directly into the supporting glass fin, creating a stable, frameless architectural boundary.
