How Our Hump Magnetic Separator Works
The operation of our industrial hump magnet takes advantage of a unique “dog-leg” or zigzag-shaped housing. The unit is typically installed vertically into enclosed spouting or pneumatic conveying lines. The housing is equipped with two powerful, heavy-duty plate magnets mounted on opposite sides of the angled chute.
As the high-speed or bulky bulk material enters the separator, the angled housing forces the material stream to abruptly change direction. The product crashes directly against the first plate magnet, instantly capturing a large portion of the tramp iron. The material then tumbles and changes direction again, colliding directly with the second plate magnet. This double-impact, tumbling action ensures that even the most deeply embedded ferrous metals are brought to the surface and securely trapped by the intense magnetic fields.
